Sneak Peek into my classroom....and a Freebie!

I have my first day with my little ones on Tuesday! I have spent the last few weeks getting ready for them! Here is a look at my classroom!

I love Target...I got these small cards there added some vinyl (another one of my favorite things) and this is where I will write the objective that we are covering each week!

My teacher friend across the hall bought the cutest owl set on TPT that had months in it! I am a little bummed that we can not buy/sell Dr. Seuss things on TPT I whipped this up to use in my classroom only!

I also made the Days of the week that are hanging under the calendar!

My little ones are always asking when is LUNCH, ENCORE, and when do we go HOME! Thanks to these adorable clocks from Target...now they know!

I also got this plate at Target added a little vinyl and my little ones can move their clips to the CLIP WALL OF FAME after 10 days of color promotions (so anything higher than green)

This is my behavior chart!

My whole team does a family wall. I loooooove this and it is one of my favorite things. Each student gets a square plate (they look like picture frames) They place a family photo inside and then we hang them here!

I wanted to show you my adorable polka dot vinyl. My students will have library cards here soon!

So excited to start BUILD  this year! I can't until these bins are filled with activities for my little ones!

Does anyone else do BUILD? Do you have any tips or tricks for me?

This will be my 3D word wall. My student each get assigned a letter and they bring in items to show and share with class. One of the items is stored here and I add the word too!

With all of the super FUN colors of tape available this year I got tape to go around each table so that they color buckets matched the edge of the table too! FYI this is a behavior tip too. My kiddos sit on the SAME color carpet square as their color. NO MORE fighting and I rotate colors every few weeks!

I am very excited to get this school year started! I can't wait to see what adventures are waiting for room 105!

NOW for the Freebie...if you would like the Dr. Seuss months and weeks...just leave me your email address and I will share them with you but just this week! :)

Meet the Teacher Monday....10 Things about Me!

 1. I am a military wife. My husband of 17 years is in the Army. Our travels have led us to wonderful people and amazing things! It has been a great journey....of course there have been obstacles (deployments and TDY's) but I am a very proud military spouse with an awesome guy on my arm.  This was taken in Arizona when I was pregnant with our little one!
2. We  have 3 wild and wonderful boys! They are almost 17 and 15.....oh and 3 1/2.
3. I am already starting to be devastated at the THOUGHT that my oldest will be a senior this year. How did this happen? But how cute   handsome and grown up is he in his senior pictures....
4. I love to use my Cricut and my Sillouette to cut Vinyl...yep I am pretty sure I have an issue. I may need an intervention...
5. I am a lucky girl that gets to teach with an amazzzzzing group of teachers. I love my team! I love how fun and crazy they are...and how dedicated to our little ones they are. I am very, very, lucky!
6. I hate things that are related to out doors....camping, fishing etc....TOO Bad my boys are ALL in love with that. :(

7. I spend wayyyyyy too much money on my classroom!  Uhmmm I really do! I have had parents even point it out! :)
8. I am teaching my first class for SDE this fall and I am very nervous and SUPER excited!  I will be at the
Virginia Kindergarten Conference in November!
9. I believe in making a difference! I live by this! I started a group centered around this...here is my amazing team (teachers and families) at a local county autism Walk!   Yes! This is ALL 4 of my Haynes Boys in this photo too!
10. I have had the HONOR of participating in several honor flights for WWII Veterans. There is nothing more powerful than seeing a Veteran see their memorial in Washington DC for the first time! It is amazing! Here is a photo from one of those times!

They were So excited that we were there cheering for them! What a blessing!

CHEAP, EASY and CUTE Teacher Shirts....made for less than $5

My team is AMAZZZING! I say it all of the time and I really mean it! I love that they are so creative, fun and willing to do just about anything to make learning fun for our little ones.

One thing we love to do is to make new shirts to wear to school. Here are a few of my favorites from last year!

I HEART Fall! This one is so cute because of the apple heart is made from glitter vinyl...AND who does not love glitter. We wore these shirts in the fall and to our fall field trip!

Color Days.... We have 9 team members on our K team (6 teachers and 3 TA's) One of the teachers bought all 9 colored shirts for all 9 of us at the SAME time...because they were 2 dollars each. Can you imagine what her cart looked like at Michael's (They are already kinda small) ? I am sure people thought she was a  little nuts! :)  These were made with white iron on vinyl and a Mickey Mouse Font on the Cricut.

Popcorn Word..... THIS IS MY FAVORITE!!!! I love this shirt! We have a few more words to add to this shirt so it is a work in progress. This was made with yellow iron on and red glitter iron vinyl!

100th day...Each of us made a different monster...100 googly eyes and black iron vinyl!

Dr. Seuss....How cute is this??? We made this shirt in honor of his big day...OF COURSE we LOVE the good Dr. in Kindergarten!  I used my Cameo to make this and downloaded the Dr. Seuss font! This was made from red and white iron on vinyl.

Peace, Love and K.....YES we tie dyed these our selves! We are a little crazy! Then we used the Cricut to cut the letters.

Our principal even asked if our goal was to make enough shirts that we could wear them everyday of the school year.... Sounds good to me...What kind of shirts do you make? We might need a few ideas!

Heidi songs....EEKKK time is almost up to win!!!

I love Heidi Songs. I use them every day in my classroom and I always leave one of the sight word DVD's in my sub plans because I know my little ones are still working on their words in a fun way even when I am not with them!!!! Last summer I met Heidi (IN PERSON....LIVE....THE REAL DEAL) at the I teach K conference.

Made it Monday...Mo Willems Puppets

I am teaming up with...

I am very excited to share my very first finger puppets! I had the help of a crafty friend while our little ones played together and I am SOOOOO happy with how they turned out!  These puppets cost me about 2 dollars to make and I know my little friends are going to LOOOOOOVE playing with these finger puppets!

Have you made any puppets recently? What did you make?

2nd Annual Literacy Swap=18 New Literacy Centers!!!!

This week I had the privilege to host our 2nd Annual Literacy Swap! I was so excited and it really did feel like Christmas! So....what is a literacy swap? Each person makes their center/game 17 times and then when we leave we all have 17 new COMPLETE centers!!! **If you have any questions about the games feel free to leave a comment and I will explain the game in more detail**

All of these word works sorts and items were completely prepared!
I can NOT wait to use them in my word work center!

Have you seen  this on Pinterest? I have...I even pinned it! NOW I have it!!! All I have to do is add the words I want my little ones to work on!

This game is so cute and I know my students will love it! This will be a great addition to the vowel sorts when we start working on them..... I also love it a little bit extra because she made it into a lid game and we all know how much I love lids!!!!

This snake game as already been tested and APPROVED by my 3 year old! He loved that he could look for the snakes in grass! Do you see how she wrote the sight words on the snakes? AND she provided us with 2 different levels....seriously HOW cute is this game and MY little man!

We love tong games. They are so great for fine motor and my students love them.
With these cute little tongs I know this game will be a hit!

Syllables can be a little tricky so the more practice the better!

This fishing game came complete with POND, FISHING POLE AND FISH! How much fun will my students have with this...oh and this was tested and approved by little guy too!

I love the idea of my students up and moving during centers. They will love this sort game but really this golf game could used for anything that has 2 different ways to sort. It is a little hard to see but she glued 2 cans together with clothes pins on top to show where they have to put the ball when they pick a card.

Another item that I have pinned and never made were these paint bags! NOW I have them TOOO! Ohhhh and the hands belong to a teacher that was a little rough trying out her new center...she ripped the bag!!!

This teacher is the only one who does not work in my county!
We met through blogging! I love the beginning sound space sort!

CHECK out this...haha...I crack myself up! I love that she used vinyl to die cut the letters for the checkers. They stick on great and I can't wait to use this!

Guess who sight words!!!! WHAT......HOW much fun will this be? Does your words have a "t" etc....every teacher quickly opened this box and  was excited to try this out!

This is my friend Karen from Mrs. Stamp's Kindergarten
and she made the cutest little ice creams to sort with the most adorable monkey plates!

This is me and my Beginning, Middle and Ending buses....these are available in my TPT store here and they are currently on SALE!!! I also made the Chicka Chicka Boom Boom Trees with vinyl. Each person got a set of upper case letters to match up!

THANK YOU, THANK YOU for another amazzzzzzzing swap! I am already planning the next one....MATH GAMES Anyone?!?!
